Fresh Future Sounds
What is next for DJ Dimitris Mykonos? He continues to expand his musical offerings along with the mindsets of clubbers, experimenting with innovative collaborations with live musicians, and exploring fresh sounds that cross musical boundaries in his “Avant Garde” future music monthly residencies with DJ and friend Trevor Simpson at San Francisco nightclub Ruby Skye. He has resurrected the once-legendary upstairs VIP room at 1015 Folsom, creating a loyal after-hours party vibe with his Saturday night residency, and enlivened Thursday nights at Fluid nightclub. Dimitris is packing the crowd at San Francisco's latest nightclub, Crash, on many Saturday nights. He recently launched a live, commercial-free dance music website, www.dancenow.com. The site features continuous hot club mixes, 24 hours a day, so users can create their own Mykonos-style party anywhere. And Dimitris is spending more time in the studio, developing remixes to showcase on the Clubbers Commute radio program and in his live sets.

A Model Collaboration
In the past year, Dimitris has been joined by his creative partner and muse, fiancée Tingting Lu. A Shenyang, China native, Lu came to the U.S. to study chemistry at UCLA, and financed her studies with a highly successful runway, print and editorial modeling career for Otto Models, even appearing in Kelly Clarkson’s premiere music video, before meeting Dimitris. Lu is now an integral force behind every Dimitris performance, selecting potential songs, planning sets and dazzling audiences with Dimitris on stage.

The Heart of It All
While Dimitris’ fame has grown, what matters to him most is still the music. “I feel like the luckiest man in the world…to be able to find the best dance music tracks and share them with people at my shows, and to have people dancing and smiling and leaving the show happy—that is what really matters to me,” he says.
